Just like everyother Rage Against the Machine song Testify sends a message of rebellion and of dislike toward the social norms. Testify particularly focuses on the war in Irag. The author writes, "Mister anchor assure me, that Baghdad is burning." This is a kind of sarcastic remark because the author is making fun of the people finding comfort in knowing about the war. Another social remark is "Mass graves for the pump." This shows that Rage Against the Machine thinks that the war is strictly for oil and that the soldiers are dying to gain control of oil. Testify has an obvious message of anger towards society and the war in Irag.
